Under the Tribal people development sub Plan, a training, awareness, and distribution program was organized on January 22, 2025 (Wednesday) at Kohuwa Resort, Balitara area, Nalbari district. The event was conducted under the initiative of the Goat Research Station, Burnihat, Assam Agricultural University, and the All India Coordinated Research Project on Goat Improvement, with the support of KVK Nalbari and Anajori Development Society.

The day-long program focused on goat and poultry farming, during which 30 tribal women beneficiaries were provided with poultry chicks, feed and water containers, poultry feed, various medicines, sprays, and mineral mixtures. The event was attended by Dr. Dipak Bhuyan, Chief Scientist of the Goat Research Station, Dr. Arpana Das, Principal Investigator of the Goat Development Project, Dr. Aravind Phukan and Dr. Adil Haque from the College of Veterinary Science, Dr. Prashanta Pathak, Senior Scientist and Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Matiur Rahman , president Anajori Development Society and Dr. Nilutpal Das, Veterinary Officer. They encouraged the beneficiaries to become self-reliant and financially stable through scientific poultry farming.

The program was graced by the presence of Mr. Hitesh Brahma, Vice-Chairperson of the Tribal Development Board, Nalbari district, and Mr. Pralay Kumar Boro, PhD Scholar, Mizoram Central University, adding significance to the event.

As part of the training, Dr. Mridusmita Sonowal, Senior Scientist from the Goat Research Station, and Dr. Dimpi Choudhury, Scientist from the Livestock Research Station, participated as resource persons.
