Training, Awareness, and Distribution Program under the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan
Wednesday, March 12, 2025, a day-long training, awareness, and distribution program on goat and poultry farming was organized at Kohuwa Resort in the Balitara region of Nalbari district. The event was conducted as an initiative of the Goat Research Station, Burnihat, Assam Agricultural University under All India Coordinated Research Project on Goat Improvement, with support from the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan and in collaboration with Anajori Development Society, Nalbari.
During the event, 30 Scheduled Caste women beneficiaries received poultry chicks, feeding and watering equipment, poultry feed, various medicines, disinfectants, and mineral mixtures.
The program was attended by key officials, including Dr. Arpana Das, the principal investigator of the project; Dr. Prerana Patowary and Dr. Jayprakash Sharma from the Goat Research Station; and Monika Das, the Secretary of the Scheduled Caste Morcha of Nalbari district.
The training camp aimed to encourage beneficiaries to achieve self-reliance and financial stability through scientific poultry farming. The event was facilitated over by Matiur Rahman, President of Anajori Development Society, with other members of the organization also present and sharing their insights.
