Hon’ble MP Abdul Khalek of Barpeta Loksabha inaugurated a health awareness project implemented by Anajari Development Society on 27/01/2024 under Corporate Social Responsibility Scheme of Indian Oil (Bangaigaon Refinery) at Mandia Regional College. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Indian Oil officials Dipen Daimari, Sabiel Tirkey, Debut Dey, Amardeep Guria and Qayum Sarkar respectively.
Dr. Rezaul Hamid, a prominent physician of Mandia area, delivered a lecture on health awareness to about 500 women and ASHA workers. He spoke about women’s anemia, ANC, mental health, epilepsy, diarrhea etc.
Invited resource persons from Guwahati, Bikash Shaikia, Principal (I/C) of Nepeds College, Harinarayan Chetia, Marketing Officer, Sanofi Aventis, and Dr. Mozahidul Islam spoke about the need for iron folic acid tablets among women ASHA workers . They also organized an exchange of views on the need for MCP cards, Breast feeding,Nutrition feeding etc.
The event was attended by Block Program Managers, (Health) Mujibur Rahman and Shahidur Rahman of Mandia and Kalgachia Block respectively.
