Drawing Competition among Students by Anajori Development Society at Katra Higher Secondary School in Connection with the 79th Independence Day Celebration
Nalbari, 15 August 2025 – On the occasion of the 79th Independence Day, Anajori Development Society, as in the past five years, organised its annual drawing competition at Katra Higher Secondary School. The objective of this event is to inspire patriotism among children and students, and to keep alive the pride and glory of independence through such yearly celebrations.
The programme began with the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag. Following this, the drawing competition was held, with the students divided into two groups – Group A (Classes IV to VI) and Group B (Classes VIII to XII). Around 250 students from the surrounding areas participated in today’s competition.
The results were announced by the judges, and prizes were presented to the winners. In Group A, Ashik Mustafa A, Darpan Das, and Nikita Kalita secured the first, second, and third prizes respectively. In Group B, Nishita Kalita, Mamta Begum, and Priyanshi Goswami secured the first, second, and third prizes respectively.
The prize distribution ceremony was presided over by Mr. Giridhar Kalita, Headmaster of Katra Higher Secondary School. The event was attended by the teaching staff of the school, along with Matiur Rahman, President of Anajori Development Society; Basant Baishya, Vice President; Dipen Talukdar, Secretary; Bhavesh Kalita, member; as well as the village headman and local residents.
Social worker Nabajit Bhattacharya and Mamtaz Ahmed, journalist of Axom Times, graced the occasion as guests and delivered speeches that contributed to making the programme a greater success.
