Training & Awareness Programme on Scientific Goat Rearing Held at Barkhanajan Village

As part of the ICAR-AICRP project on goat improvement, a training and awareness meeting was successfully conducted at the adopted village Barkhanajan,Nalbari,Assam. The programme aimed to build capacity among local farmers on scientific methods of goat rearing.

The meeting was graced by Dr. Dipak Bhuyan, Chief Scientist, GRS-AAU, and Dr. Arpana Das, Principal Investigator of the project, who addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of sustainable livestock practices.

Matiur Rahman, President of Anajori Development Society, also spoke about the organization’s efforts in rural development and livestock-based livelihood promotion.

A highlight of the event was the felicitation of Mr. Girin Kalita, a progressive farmer whose inspiring success story in scientific goat and cattle rearing has made him a role model in the community. His livestock-based livelihood is his only source of income—yet he has thrived through dedication and innovation.
